Cause

This issue occurs because a version-check operation fails in Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011.

When Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 publishes to a database, it performs a version check to determine the version of the server. However, the version check is performed incorrectly. Therefore, the version check on the upgraded back-end server fails, and the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section occurs.
