When you apply formatting, such as a closing or opening angle bracket
(> or <), to a field with the Memo data type, the data in the field
appears truncated after the 255th character.

When you apply formatting to a Memo field, the formatting is treated as a Text
field, which has a 255-character limit. The data is not physically
truncated, but only 255 characters are viewable.

If you export your table to an Excel worksheet, you can view the contents of the Memo field, but without the formatting.

Microsoft Access versions 2.0 and 7.0 behave differently,
in that they apply your format only to Memo fields that contain 255 characters
or fewer; the Format property is ignored in Memo fields that are longer than that.
