The following components are not installed or downloaded. They are not part of any Internet Explorer 5.5 installation option and must be installed separately:
  • Macromedia Shockwave Player

  • Chinese (Simplified) Text Display Support
  • Chinese (Simplified) Text Input Support
  • Chinese (Traditional) Text Display Support
  • Chinese (Traditional) Text Input Support
  • Hebrew Text Support
  • Japanese Text Display Support
  • Japanese Text Input Support
  • Korean Text Display Support
  • Korean Text Input Support
  • Pan-European Text Display Support
  • Thai Text Support
  • Vietnamese Text Support
To add any of these components, follow the appropriate method:

Using the Windows Update Site

  1. Connect to your Internet service provider.
  2. Click Start, and then click Windows Update.
  3. Click the Product Updates link.
  4. Scroll down to find the update that you require, and then click to select the appropriate check boxes.
  5. Click Download.
  6. Click Start Download.
  7. Click Yes to accept the agreement.
  8. You may need to click Yes to allow windows to restart.

Using the Add/Remove Programs Tool

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. Click Internet Explorer 5.5.
  3. Click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Add a Component, and then click OK.
  5. Scroll down and select the component that you want to install.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
  8. Click Yes to restart the computer if necessary.
