INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that a document content type is set to use a template. The template is stored on a different SharePoint site instead of in the document library where the content type is associated. When you try to create a new file by using an Office application, the template is not displayed in the SharePoint Templates section.
  • Assume that you create a publishing site collection in SharePoint 2010. You enable the Document ID service in the site collection. You click the Manage Content and Structure command on the site collection Site Actions menu, and then create a new page in the Site Content and Structure webpage. When you move the page to sites or folders on that webpage multiple times, the move operation fails.
  • When you add a tag cloud Web Part to a Shared Document library, the tag cloud Web Part does not show all the tags even though the Under the current URL by all users option is selected.
  • Assume that you enable the output cache feature in a SharePoint 2010 site collection, and that the cache is shared for authenticated users. When you click the My Profile link, the profile page of another user is displayed unexpectedly.
  • When you delete a subsite by using the Delete this site option in Site Settings, the subsite is moved to the site collection Recycle Bin. However, when you delete a subsite in a site collection through the Site Content and Structure webpage, the subsite is deleted permanently.
  • Assume that you create a custom site definition that contains multiple Web Parts in SharePoint 2010. You specify an ItemXslLink property on a ContentByQueryWebPart Web Part. The WebPartOrder value of the ContentByQueryWebPart Web Part is not first in the order. In this situation, the Content Query Web Part is allocated in the top of the Web Part zone. Therefore, the Content Query Web Part becomes first in the order, and this affects the order of all the other Web Parts.
  • Assume that the Document Set feature is enabled in a site collection. You save a document library as a document library template. When you create some documents by using the template in the library, the following event is logged in the Application log:
    Log Name: Application
    Source: Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Foundation
    Date: Date
    Event ID: 6875
    Task Category: General
    Level: Error
    Keywords:
    User: UserName
    Computer: Computer
    Description:
Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.DocumentSets.DocumentSetEventReceiver in Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Additional information is below.
: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
    -------------
Null Reference Exception occurs at syncMetadata().

  • When you specify the DefaultAssetImageLocation property of a RichImageField control in SharePoint Server 2010, the Asset Picker dialog box for the RichImageField control points to an incorrect location in a publishing page.
  • When a process recycle for the W3wp.exe process takes more than five minutes in SharePoint Server 2010, the binary large object (BLOB) cache does not work.
  • Assume that you have a content type that contains a lookup column that refers to a list. This list contains more than 20 items. You specify a Content Organizer rule, set the lookup column as a condition, and then save the rule. In this situation, the condition value of the lookup column is not saved.
  • Consider the following situation with an out-of-the-box installation of SharePoint Server 2010. You select the Display a notification about every script error check box under the Advanced tab in Internet Options in Windows Internet Explorer. Then, you click the Manage Item Scheduling command in Document Library Settings. In this situation, you receive the following error message:
    Webpage error details
    User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; InfoPath.3; MS-RTC EA 2; BRI/2; MS-RTC LM 8; Zune 4.7)
    Timestamp: Time
    Message: Unterminated string constant
    Line: 115
    Char: 135
    Code: 0
    URI: URL

  • Assume that you have more than 10 terms in a term set. You deprecate the first 10 terms. You try to create or edit an item in a list. In this situation, other terms are not displayed in the metadata column.
  • Assume that you create several pages in the page library with a contact email name in a publishing site collection. You enable the Send a content review request mail to the Page Contact feature for these pages. When you delete one of the pages, not all the mails are sent to the page contact.
For example, page 1, page 2, page 3 and page 4 are created in the site collection. When you delete page 2, mail is received only for page 3 and page 4, but not for page 1.
  • You cannot delete the value in the Managed Metadata column in SharePoint 2010.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You deploy a content deployment from a source site collection to a destination site collection in SharePoint Server 2010.
    • You create a subsite based on a customized site template that sets the welcome page as the default.aspx page.
    • You perform an incremental content deployment.
In this scenario, the content deployment fails and an error occurs.
  • Assume that you disable the New Folder command in a document library in SharePoint 2010. When you try to browse to a custom folder under the tree view in the Site Content and Structure webpage, you are redirected to the root of the site collection instead of to the contents of the folder as expected.
  • Assume that a retention policy is syndicated to a site that has never had a policy defined. When you change the original retention policy, the expiration date of the policy in the site is not updated.
  • When a retention formula throws a Null Reference exception, the policy cannot be updated on a list.
