INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you save a security category that contains an inactive resource, you receive the following error message:
    Unknown error has occurred.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add a user to a project as a Project Manager through the Project Permissions page in PWA.
    • You visit the Project Sites link on the Server Settings page of Microsoft Project Server 2010.
    • You select the project, and then click Synchronize.
    In this scenario, the user whom you added as a Project Manager is removed from the project. This issue also occurs when you directly publish the project in Microsoft Project Professional 2010.

Known issues

If you receive an "Unknown Error" message when you try to access the Project Center page in Project Web Apps (PWA) after you apply this hotfix package, download and apply the package from the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problems described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

To install this hotfix package, you must have Microsoft Project Server 2010 or Microsoft Project Server 2010 Service Pack 1 installed.
