INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You install SharePoint Workspace 2010 on a computer.
    • You enable the "Prohibit Groove Workspaces" Group Policy Object to allow SharePoint 2010 synchronization only and to block Peer to Peer workspaces.
In this scenario, chat and instant messaging functionality is not blocked. Therefore, you can still send instant messages in SharePoint Workspace 2010.

    Note
This issue occurs on unmanaged SharePoint Workspace 2010 clients that are not deployed by using Groove Server Manager 2010.BUG #: 31612 (OfficeQFE)
