View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You copy an image in a previously saved Excel 2010 workbook (.xlsx).
  • You paste the image into another workbook (.xlsx).
  • You close the first workbook.
  • You try to save the workbook that contains the pasted image.
In this scenario, you cannot save the workbook, and you receive the following error message:
Errors were detected while saving '[path\Filename]'. Microsoft Excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click Continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.

Note This issue also occurs when you copy or move a worksheet that contains an image from one workbook to another workbook and then close the original workbook. If the original workbook contains only one worksheet in this situation, the original workbook closes automatically and you experience this issue.
