INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you save a Word document as a .pdf file in Word 2010, text that is inside a shaded text box is not displayed in the .pdf file. When you print to a PostScript printer that supports 1200 DPI, only the shading in the text box is printed.
  • The owner file of a document on a network share is not deleted when you shut down or log off from the computer.
  • Assume that you enable the Update fields before printing option. When you print an HTML email message that contains a linked image in Microsoft Outlook 2010, the image is not printed correctly.
  • When a Word document is protected by Information Rights Management (IRM), the document's temporary files are not encrypted.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You use the subst command to create a virtual drive.
    • You use the Encrypting File System (EFS) to encrypt the virtual drive.
    • You save an encrypted document as a .docx file on the virtual drive.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write-protected, or damaged.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a template on a mapped drive.
    • You move the template to a different location.
    • You update the template path to match the current location.
    • You open a file that uses the template.
In this scenario, the template cannot be found.
  • When an add-in calls the FormattedText method on a range in a document header or footer, you may receive the following error message when you save the document:
Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.

  • When you disable the Track Changes feature and then copy a table, the deletion revision marks are lost.
  • The owner file of a document is not deleted when the document is located in the network folder and is opened in Protected View.
  • In certain scenarios, Word 2010 crashes during repagination.
  • When you insert building blocks into a document, many additional styles that have random names are unexpectedly inserted. The names of the styles correspond to the internal IDs of the individual content controls.
