Incorrect values are updated after an application calls the UpdateBacth() method in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a client application that uses ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) to connect to a dataset on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • The dataset uses the DiffGrams format.
  • You configure the value of the Resync property in the ADCPROP_UPDATERESYNC_ENUMenumerated constant to 13. This value combines the adResyncAutoIncrement, adResyncUpdates, and adResyncInsertsconstants.
  • The client application opens a client-side recordset. Then, the client application performs an insert operation and an update operation on some rows in the recordset.
  • The client application calls the UpdateBacth() method to update all the changes. These changes include the changes that are caused by the insert operation and the update operation.
In this scenario, the incorrect data values are updated. Specifically, the values in the rows that were inserted are updated by using the values in the rows that were updated.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 file information notes
Important Windows 7 hotfixes and Windows Server 2008 R2 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, hotfixes on the Hotfix Request page are listed under both operating systems. To request the hotfix package that applies to one or both operating systems, select the hotfix that is listed under "Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2" on the page.
