Windows 7 Paint may not process a multitouch gesture performed immediately after a color palette change within the application

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • On a Windows 7 multitouch enabled PC, you launch the Windows Paint application.
  • You change the color palette in Paint.
  • You attempt to draw multiple lines simultaneously using a multitouch gesture.

In this scenario, the lines may not be drawn the first time you perform the gesture.  If you attempt to perform the same gesture again, the lines are drawn as expected.
