Inventory return batch is suspended when the inventory ID being returned has a negative quantity on hand in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Inventory in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011:
  • You select the Allow Negative Quantities check box on the IN Setup (10.950.00) screen.
  • You issue an inventory ID and cause the quantity on hand to become negative.
  • You create an inventory return on the Issues (10.020.00) screen for the inventory ID to replenish the negative quantity on hand.
  • You change the value in the Batch Handling box to Release Now, and then you click Finish.
When you do this, you notice that the Issues (10.020.00) screen stops responding, and the return batch is only partly released. You expect the batch to be released completely.
