New registration entries are added to the Persistent Reservation table when the physical disk resource that is associated with the CSV is taken offline on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based Failover Cluster

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you have a Windows Server 2008 R2-based Failover Cluster that is configured with Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV). When a physical disk resource associated with a CSV is taken offline, it is expected that all reservation and registration entries are removed from the Persistent Reservation table. However, in this situation, the non-owners of the CSV physical disk resource add new registration entries to the Persistent Reservation table.
