Symptoms

When you import files with mixed case file names into a FrontPage Web, the case of the file names is changed to all lowercase. This may occur when you use the Import command on the File menu or use the import folder method.

Cause

File name case is lost during file import on FrontPage Webs. This only occurs for short file names that use the 8.3 format. The issue occurs for files that are being imported that are on a FAT or an NTFS partition.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
