An employee has less available benefits than expected when benefits are awarded and used in the same pay period in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Payroll in Microsoft Dynamics SL:
  • You enter a value in the Max Cumulative Available box on the Rate Table tab on the Benefit Maintenance (03.240.00) screen for a specific benefit ID.
  • You award an employee an amount of a benefit ID that brings the total for that ID to more than the value in the Max Cumulative Available box for that ID.
  • The employee uses a part of the accumulated total for that benefit ID in the same pay period during which the benefits were awarded.
When the employee's used benefits are subtracted from the employee's accumulated total in this scenario, the amount that remains is less than you expect.
