Symptoms

When you use Internet Explorer to create a new meeting in Exchange 2000 Server Outlook Web Access (OWA), if you invite a large number of users (between 45 and 50), you may receive the following error message:
The data area passed to the system call is too small 122
In addition, the meeting request is not sent.

Cause

This issue occurs because the URL that is created for this meeting request has become too large.

Workaround

To work around this issue, remove some of the users, or create two overlapping meeting requests to include all the users.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
