Reporting update prerequisite for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 Update Rollup 1

Summary

The update described in this article expands the Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 (FEP) Reporting and Alerts component repair and patch capabilities. Reporting components and SQL scripts can be serviced more robustly after installing this update, including the FEP database and FEP data warehouse views, stored procedures, functions, jobs, and permissions.

Note: After being applied, this update cannot be uninstalled.

This update is a prerequisite for FEP Update Rollup 1, which is described in the following article:

Known Issues

  • Due to the nature of the update's servicing changes, this update cannot be uninstalled.
  • You can customize the data retention value by using the steps outlined in FEP 2010 Reporting Database Maintenance. However, after running a repair on your FEP installation, or after applying this update, the data retention value is reset to the default value of 12 months. You must perform the steps in FEP 2010 Reporting Database Maintenance in order to reset the data retention value to what is required in your organization.
