This update provides the latest fixes for SharePoint Server 2010. It also includes stability and performance improvements.
Install prerequisites
To apply this update, you must have SharePoint Server 2010 with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 with cumulative update package 10 or a later version, or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with cumulative update package 9 or a later version.Note The SQL Server updates have to be applied to all web front-end servers in addition to the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) servers in the farm. This is the only way the SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies 2010 can be updated.
Download and install the update
You can use Windows Update to download and install the update (recommended).

- Consider the following scenario:
- You create a SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report that can accept a parameter.
- You create a Reporting Services report that connects to the report that you created in the previous step by using Dashboard Designer.
- You create a dashboard filter that has lots of members by using Dashboard Designer.
- You create a dashboard, and you include the filter and report that you created in the previous steps.
- You connect the filter to the report.
