INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You start Excel 2010 and a blank workbook automatically opens.
    • You click a link in a third-party application to open an Excel workbook.
Note The Excel workbook that you access from the link contains Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) links to data that is located in another document.
    • The data that is linked to the Excel workbook starts to update.
In this scenario, Excel 2010 crashes.
  • You open an Excel workbook or you run an add-in in an Excel workbook. The Excel workbook or the add-in contains a link to a template. Then, if you create a new workbook or worksheet that uses the same template, Excel 2010 may crash.
  • When you try to save a workbook or try to select a worksheet in a workbook in Excel 2010, you receive the following error message:

Not enough system resources to display completely

  • You have an Excel workbook that contains some Cube functions. When you click Refresh All to update the data that the Cube functions return in Excel 2010, the workbook does not display the data.
  • You have a workbook that contains some ActiveX controls. When you copy the worksheets in the Excel workbook and insert them into another Excel workbook in Excel 2010, the positions of the ActiveX controls are changed.
  • You have a row that contains a carriage return character in an Excel workbook. When you use the row as a header for sorting in Excel 2010, the options in the Sort by list in the Sort dialog box are displayed incorrectly.

Note To open the Sort dialog box, on the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Sort & Filter, and then click Custom Sort.
