View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You select the Preserve my pending changes locally check box in the Gated Check-in dialog box to define a gated check-in build in Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer 2010.
  • You rename a file in a project.

For example, you rename a file from B to C.
  • You add a new file that has the same name as the previous name of the renamed file.

For example, you add a file that uses B as its file name.
  • You run the gated check-in build.
  • You try to reconcile changes in the local workspace after the gated check-in build finishes.
In this scenario, you receive the following error:
TF14059: Unable to process the pending changes requested. The set of pending renames would cause a name collision for {0}.
