INTRODUCTION

 This update package fixes the issues that are documented in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
  • 982129 You cannot sign in with the Group Chat client or with Group Chat Administration Tool if Group Chat server is deployed in a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain

  • 972948 After you apply the update that is described in KB 969819, Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat Server starts and then stops immediately

To apply this update, install the MGCAdmin.msp package on a computer that has the Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Group Chat Administration Tool installed.

Note When you apply this cumulative update on a computer that is running Windows 2008 and has the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, start the installation of the MGCAdmin.msp package by using the command prompt. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Startthe Start button , click
    All Programs, and then click
    Accessories.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt, and then click
    Run as administrator.

    User Account Control permission If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
  3. Start the MGCAdmin.msp package from the command prompt.
