In the IEAK 5.5 Customization Wizard, you can choose from different sets of policies to prevent users from configuring policies and restrictions that apply only to Administrator accounts. In previous versions of IEAK, some system policies and restrictions may only be applied to administrative users on target computers running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 or later.
Stage 5: Targeting Policies and Restrictions
By configuring and locking particular user settings, you can preserve a consistent desktop environment across your organization and reduce your support costs.
Before configuring policies, determine if your users will have administrative rights on their computers.
To configure the full range of policies for users without administrative rights, use a dedicated policy deployment tool. For Windows NT-based networks, use Windows NT Policy Editor. For Microsoft Windows 2000-based networks, use Windows 2000 Group Policy.
