FIX: Nested viewer incorrectly appears in Internet Explorer 9 after you perform a search in a ReportViewer control of a Visual Studio 2008-based Web application


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use a ReportViewer control in a Web application to display a report in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
  • You use Internet Explorer 9 to view the report in Report Manager. 
  • You search for a keyword that appears in the report, and then you click Next in the View tab.

In this scenario, a nested viewer incorrectly appears in the report area.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
