Single Sign-On (SSO) feature does not work after you enable the RemoteFX feature in Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You enable the Single Sign-On (SSO) feature on a remote desktop server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You enable the RemoteFX feature on the remote desktop server.
In this scenario, the SSO feature does not work. Therefore, users have to type their user name and password to create a remote desktop connection to the remote desktop server.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

To apply this hotfix, you must be running Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
