Excel 2010 error "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources"

Consider this scenario:

When opening with Excel attachments in Outlook�you receive the following error, "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other applications."

You have the preview pane showing in the Insert File dialog box. There is a conflict between the preview pane and Excel.


Note: This error is generic and there may be other causes.

Hide�the preview pane:

1. Show the Insert File dialog box
2. In the top right corner of the dialog box, click "Hide the preview pane."
