Error message: "Purchase Order Failure" when you click the Create button on the Requisitions page in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 and GP 2010


Symptoms

When a Purchaser selects the Create button in the Requistions page in Business Portal to convert a Requisition to a Purchase Order they receive the error message listed below.

"Purchase Order Failure"
"Error in Application" 
"Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition"

Cause

This error populates because the Item/Site or Item/Vendor combination is not setup in Dynamics GP.

Resolution

Resolution 1: Verify the Item/Site Combination exists

  1. In Microsoft Dynamcis GP click Cards, point to Inventory and click Quantities/Sites.
  2. Enter or use the Lookup to select the Item.
  3. Mark the radio button next to Site ID.
  4. Mark the radio button next to Assigned.
  5. Use the scrolling arrows or the Lookup to verify the Item is assigned to the Site that was used in Requisition Management.
  6. If the Site is not assigned, assign the correct Site and save the record.

Resolution 2: Verify the Item/Vendor Combination exists
  1. In Microsoft Dynamics GP click Cards, point to Inventory and click Vendors.
  2. Enter or use the Lookup to select the Item.
  3. Mark the radio button next to Assigned.
  4. Use the scrolling arrows or the Lookup to verify the Item is assigned to the Vendor that was used in Requisition Management.
  5. If the Vendor is not assigned, assign the correct Vendor and save the record.
