An error occurs when you enter a new project ID in Business Portal and the project ID contains the customer ID as one of the segments in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) and in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You set up your customer ID values to be three segments on the FlexKey Definition (21.320.00) screen.
  • You set up your project IDs to be two segments that contain the customer ID in the first segment on the Flexible Key Maintenance (PA.FKM.00) screen.
  • You enter the customer ID as the first segment in the New Project box on the Business Portal Project Center page, and you enter another value for the second segment.
  • You click OK.
When you do this, you receive the following error message:

Resolution

Hotfix information for Microsoft Dynamics SL
