More Information

When Extended Protection for Authentication is enabled, authentication requests are bound to both the Service Principal Names (SPN) of the server to which the client tries to connect and, if present, to the outer Transport Layer Security (TLS) channel over which the Integrated Windows Authentication occurs.

No configuration is required after you install this update. After this update is installed, Outlook 2007 will automatically support Extended Protection for Authentication if update 968389 has also been installed correctly. Update 968389 is the base Security Support Provider Interface update.
