Black shapes are printed instead of gradient-filled images when you print a document from a Windows 7-based or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

You print a document that contains gradient-filled images by using certain applications on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. However, black shapes are printed instead of the gradient-filled images.

For example, in Windows PowerPoint 2010, you try to print a file that contains gradient-filled images by using the "2 Slides - Handouts (2 slides per page)" option. In this scenario, black shapes replace the gradient-filled images in the print output.
