FIX: Error message when you run the DTA Purge and Archive job on a computer that has BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1 installed: "Invalid object name 'EdiMessageContent'. [SQLSTATE 42S02] (Error 208). The step failed."

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 on a computer. However, you do not configure BizTalk Server 2006 R2.
  • You install BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
  • You configure BizTalk Server 2006 R2 for the first time after BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1 is installed.
  • You configure the DTA Purge and Archive job and then enable it to run.
In this scenario, the DTA Purge and Archive job does not run. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the job history:

Cause

The issue occurs because the EDIMessageContent table is not created in the DTA database if you configure BizTalk Server 2006 R2 for the first time only after you install BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1.
