Error message when you select a vendor in Requisition Management in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP: "The selected purchase request is being edited by another user"

Symptom

When the user attempts to select a Vendor in Requisition Managment they receive the following error:

"Another user is currently working with the selected vendor"

Cause

A stuck record in table MultiUserManager.

Resolution

This error usually means that a user was in working with that vendor in Requisition Managment and then exited incorrectly and a record got locked in the the MultiuserManager (MUM) table. Usually after 20 minutes it will automatically clear out of the MUM table but sometimes the record gets stuck. The easiest way to resolve this is to have all of the users log out of Business Portal. Then run the following delete statement in Query Analyzer to clear out the stuck records.  


DELETE DYNAMICS..MultiUserManager



Once this has been done have the user log back in and make sure they can access the vendor without the error.
