A chart that has no border is not displayed completely in a .doc file in Office Word 2007

Symptoms

Assume that you create a chart that has no border in a Microsoft Office Word 2007 document. Then, you save the document as a .doc file. When you open the .doc file, the chart is not displayed completely.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:
2475890 Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package (oartconv-x-none.msp, oart-x-none.msp): February 22, 2011

After you install the hotfix package, follow these steps to enable the hotfix:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common

  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.
  4. Type UseNewTightWrap, and then press ENTER.
  5. In the Details pane, right-click UseNewTightWrap, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
  7. Exit Registry Editor.
