Sequencing AutoCAD 2008 on Windows 7 x86 computers fails when installing to Q:\

Symptoms

When sequencing AutoCAD 2008 on x86 Computers running Windows 7, you cannot install to Q:\. The following error is received:

Invalid Path Q:\AutoCAD2008, please select another install path

Cause

This can occur if the Q:\ drive is a symbolic link (SymLink) and not a physical partition. AutoCAD does not support SymLinked drives for native or virtual installations.

Resolution

Create a physical partition for the Q drive (or the equivalent drive letter used by the App-V client) and sequence to that partition instead.
