Description of the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 hotfix package (Sts-x-none.msp): January 19, 2011
This article describes the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated January 19, 2011.

Issue that this hotfix package fixes
- You perform a content deployment that triggers the automatic link fixup process in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. However, when the server is under heavy load, the content deployment fails with a SQL deadlock error. Additionally, the SharePoint sites that are included in the content deployment cannot be accessed.
- Consider the following scenario:
- You install Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 in Domain A.
- You have a separate Domain B that contains several Active Directory user accounts.
- You migrate the user accounts together with their SID history from Domain B to Domain A.
- You disable the migrated user accounts in domain A.
- You use the stsadm command to configure a custom Active Directory filter to show only active user accounts.
- You use SharePoint People Picker to add the migrated user accounts to SharePoint resources.
In this scenario, the disabled user accounts still display in results in the People Picker control.

Prerequisites
To install this hotfix, you must have Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 or Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 installed.
