You experience multiple problems in various screens after you apply the 2010 year end updates in Microsoft Dynamics SL


Symptoms

After you apply the 2010 Year End Updates, you experience one or more of the following scenarios in various screens in Microsoft Dynamics SL 6.5 and Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0.

Scenario 1:

You notice that in the Letter drop down box on the Letter/Other Info tab of the Employee W2 History (02.260.00) screen there is no entry for CC.

Scenario 2:

You open the 941 Quarterly Federal Tax Worksheet (02.750.00) screen and you receive one of the following error messages:

System Message 10050:  Application specified size of record wrk941r (1308) does not match the database declared size of (1336)

See resolution 2a.

or

System Message 10050:  Application specified size of record wrk941r (1336) does not match the database declared size of (1308)

See resolution 2b.



Scenario 3:

You click Begin Processing in the 941 Quarterly Federal Tax Worksheet (02.750.00) screen and you receive one of the following error messages:

System Message 10214:  Unable to create a Microsoft cursor from given sql statement

or

System Message 20201: The kernel is not able to use SQL server cursor function with this select statement

or

System  Message 10232:  Assertion failure

Scenario 4:

You print the W-2 Forms (02.741.00) report or you review the Employee W2 History (02.260.00) screen and you notice that HIRE Act Employees do not show their exempted wages in box 12 letter CC.

Resolution

Resolution 1:

To resolve this problem, run the installation for the 2010 Year End Updates from the server instead of from a workstation.


Resolution 2:

a. To resolve this problem, reinstall the 2010 Year End Updates.

b. To resolve this problem, run the Bug21959PR.sql script against the application database again.


Resolution 3:

To resolve this problem, run the YEUpdate.sql and Bug 21959PR.sql scripts against the application database again.


Resolution 4:

To resolve this problem, run the Bug21959PR-Manual.sql script against the application database to update the PRdocs for the HIRE Act Employees.
