View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009, or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010.
  • You have a BizTalk project that has been deployed. The BizTalk project has an orchestration, and the orchestration has a Construct Message shape.
  • A mapping operation is included in the Construct Message shape. For example, a Transform shape is included in the Construct Message shape.
  • You receive an incoming message that contains some white-space characters.
  • The mapping operation processes the message.
In this scenario, the white-space characters are removed from the output message.

Notes
  • This issue occurs even if PreserveWhitespace flag is set to true.
  • This issue does not occur in BizTalk Server 2006 R2 or in BizTalk Server 2009, or in BizTalk Server 2010.
