A calendar synchronization times out when you use ActiveSync to synchronize with an Exchange Server 2007 mailbox on a mobile device


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use ActiveSync to synchronize with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 mailbox on a mobile device, such as a Windows Phone 7-based phone.
  • There is a recurring calendar item which has lots of exceptions in the mailbox.
In this scenario, the calendar synchronization times out. Additionally, you receive a “0x80072ee2” error code message.

Note Contacts and email messages in the mailbox can still be synchronized successfully.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
