Error message when you try to install Microsoft Analysis Cubes for Dynamic GP "Client must be installed in order to complete the installation"

Symptoms

When you install Analysis Cubes for the Spanish version of Microsoft Dynamics GP, you receive the following error message:

Microsoft Dynamics GP client must be installed in order to complete the Microsoft Dynamics GP Analysis Cubes installation

Cause

This error is caused by a setting in the registry.

Resolution

To resolve this error message, follow these steps.

Important This article contains information about how to modify the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it. Make sure that you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs.   1. Click Start and then click Run. Type regedit and then click OK.
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Business Solutions\Great Plains.
  3. Under the Great Plains key, find the folder named 6154.
  4. Right-click the key and then click Rename. Rename the folder to 1033.
  5. If you do not have a "DEFAULT" folder under the 1033 folder, you will need to rename one of your InstX (where X is a number) folders to "DEFAULT".
  6. Install Analysis Cubes again.
  7. Go back to the registry editor and change the folder back to 6154, and the DEFAULT folder back to InstX (where X is a number).
