An inventory ID that has more than 20 characters does not appear on the Component Where-Used Lists (11.610.00) report in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Inventory and in Bill of Materials in Microsoft Dynamics SL 6.5 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You create an inventory ID that has more than 20 characters in the Inventory Items (10.250.00) screen.
  • You create a new bill of materials in the Bill of Material Maintenance (11.250.00) screen. The bill of materials includes the new inventory ID as a component.
  • You print the indented version of the Component Where-Used Lists (11.610.00) report.
In this scenario, you notice that the inventory ID does not appear on the indented version of the Component Where-Used Lists (11.610.00) report. However, you expect the inventory ID to appear on the report.

Resolution
