The lot number or serial number is not displayed as expected in the Lot/Serial box in the “Container Builder (50.002.00)” screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Advanced Shipment Management, e-Commerce Gateway EDI Edition, and Order Management in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You click to select the Pre-Generate Containers check box for 856 documents for a site in the EDI Site Maintenance (44.204.00) screen.
  • You create a sales order in the Sales Order Entry (40.100.00) screen for a lot-tracked or serial-tracked inventory ID, and process manager creates a shipper for the sales order.
  • You open the shipper that was created in the Shippers (40.110.00) screen, and you click the Bin/Lot/Ser button. Then, you enter a lot number or serial number for the inventory ID in the Bin/Lot/Serial (40.110.06) screen.
  • You open the shipper in the Shipment Confirmation (40.117.00) screen, and you click the Container button.
  • You press F3 in the Container box in the Container Builder (50.002.00) screen, and you select the container ID that was created for the shipper.
In this scenario, you notice that the Lot/Serial box is not populated with the lot number or the serial number that you chose for the inventory ID in the container. You expect the Lot/Serial box to use the correct lot number or serial number that you chose for the inventory ID.
