Introduction
This article describes an update for Hyper-V Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) for Windows Server 2008 R2 and for Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 systems (KB 977238). This update includes fixes for issues between BPA and new features that were introduced in Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1). This update also includes fixes for issues in BPA.This update applies to Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM-based computers and to Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2-based computers, both with and without SP1.
This update fixes the following issue when you run Hyper-V BPA against a computer that is running Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 or Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 SP1:
BPA incorrectly reports that the server core installation is recommended for servers that are running Hyper-V.
