Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a Microsoft Office 2010 document.
    • You format the text as Portuguese (Portugal).
    • You click Spelling & Grammar on the Review ribbon,or you press F7 to start proofing the text.
    In this scenario, text that are incorrectly spelled according to the new Portuguese spelling rules are not detected.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a Microsoft Office 2010 document.
    • You set the default Editing language as English (Canada).
    • You type the Canadian English formatting text in the document.
    • You click Spelling & Grammar.
    In this scenario, words that are incorrectly spelled according to the Canadian English spelling rules are not detected.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
