Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in the Greek version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV:
  • You use progressive inventory periods for the inventory costing.
  • You click to select the Create Adjustment Entries check box in the Inventory Setup dialog box.
  • You have some output entries that happened in a closed period.
  • You run the Calculate Product Cost report (16793) to create adjustment entries.
In this scenario, the report does not create the adjustment entries that are required to adjust the cost of these output entries.
This problem occurs in the following products:
  • The Greek version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  • The Greek version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Note The adjustment to the cost of these output entries is required, because the cost of the corresponding consumption entries is adjusted by the Calculate Purchase Cost report (16781).

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Change the code in the Data Item Number 1 in the Calculate Product Cost report (16793) as follow:
    Existing code
    ...
    ValuationMgt.Init(Item,InventoryPeriod,TRUE)
    ELSE
    ValuationMgt.InitPerLocation(Item,InventoryPeriod);
    UNTIL Item.NEXT = 0;
    AdvCostingMgt.CreateRegister;
    END;
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    ValuationMgt.Init(Item,InventoryPeriod,TRUE)
    ELSE
    ValuationMgt.InitPerLocation(Item,InventoryPeriod);

    // Add the following line.
    ValuationMgt.UpdateUnitCosts;

    UNTIL Item.NEXT = 0;
    AdvCostingMgt.CreateRegister;
    END;
    ...
  2. Change the code in the UpdateValueEntries function in the Mfg Cost Calculation codeunit (16786) as follow:
    Existing code
    ...
    TotalOutputperPO,UnitRounding);
    ValueEntry2."Cost Amount (Expected)" := 0;
    ProdOrderLine.RESET;

    // Delete the following lines.
    ProdOrderLine.SETRANGE("Prod. Order No.",ValueEntry."Prod. Order No.");
    ProdOrderLine.SETRANGE("Line No.",ValueEntry."Prod. Order Line No.");
    // End of the lines.

    IF ProdOrderLine.FINDFIRST THEN BEGIN
    ProdOrderLine."Cost is Adjusted" := TRUE;
    ProdOrderLine.MODIFY;
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    TotalOutputperPO,UnitRounding);
    ValueEntry2."Cost Amount (Expected)" := 0;
    ProdOrderLine.RESET;

    // Add the following lines.
    ProdOrderLine.SETRANGE("Prod. Order No.",ValueEntry2."Prod. Order No.");
    ProdOrderLine.SETRANGE("Line No.",ValueEntry2."Prod. Order Line No.");
    // End of the lines.

    IF ProdOrderLine.FINDFIRST THEN BEGIN
    ProdOrderLine."Cost is Adjusted" := TRUE;
    ProdOrderLine.MODIFY;
    ...
