How to Activate the Hotfix by Using the QFE_Charlotte Registry Key
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To
activate the product fix that is listed in this article, modify the following
registry key and value:
- If Excel is running, quit Excel.
- Click Start, and then click
Run.
- In the Open box, type
regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate, and then click to select the following registry
key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Options
- On the Edit menu, point to
New, and then click DWORD.
- Type the following name for the new value:
QFE_Charlotte.
- Press ENTER.
- Right-click the QFE_Charlotte registry
key, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type
1.
- Click OK, and then quit Registry Editor.
Note To disable the fix, set the registry key value to 0.
