Error message: "This document type cannot be submitted at this time. Contact your workflow administrator." when submitting documents in HRMSSS in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP


Symptoms

When submitting any document type including employee information/profile changes, work contact detail changes, dependent changes, direct deposit information, timecards, vacation requests, etc. in Human Resources Self Service Suite (HRMSSS) in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP, an error is detected including: 

This document type cannot be submitted at this time. Contact your workflow administrator.

There was an error submitting the timecard. This document type cannot be submitted at this time. Contact your workflow administrator.

Cause

The workflow business process for this document type has the option "Suspend creation of new process instances." marked to prevent users from submitting new documents of this type.

Resolution

Unmark the "Suspend creation of new process instances." option on the business process using the steps below:


1. Log into Business Portal (BP) as the Administrator.

2. Navigate to the Workflow Business Process using the appropriate method below:
  • Using BP with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010: Click on Administration and then click on Workflow Business Processes.
  • Using BP with Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0: Click on Home, click on Site Actions, click on Site Settings and then click on Workflow business processes.
  • Using BP with Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0: Click on Site Settings, click on Application Settings, click on Workflow and then click on Business Processes.

3. Click to select the appropriate business process in the Business Process List.

4. Under the Options tab, unmark "Suspend creation of new process instances."

5. Click Save.
