FIX: An AS2 Decoder cannot decrypt a message that is larger than 5 MB when you run BizTalk Server 2010 in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
    • Windows Server 2008 R2
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  • You use the AS2 Decoder to decrypt an encrypted message that is larger than 5 megabytes (MB).
In this scenario, the AS2 Decoder cannot decode the message.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a known issue in the CryptMsgUpdate function.

Resolution

Hotfix Information

To resolve this issue, apply the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2480994.
