System Message 6850 when you do a return in the "Issues (10.020.00)" screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Inventory in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You issue a quantity for an inventory ID that is lot numbered and that has a prefix segment type of Enterable.
  • You return the quantity that is issued for the inventory ID that is lot numbered by using the Issues (10.020.00) screen.
When you do this, you receive the following error message:

System Message 6850 - "Quantity remaining from Lot/Serial Assignment - transaction quantity will be changed to match."

Resolution
