FIX: Multitouch does not work in a .NET Framework 3.0-based WPF application if the Wacom driver is installed

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install a Wacom driver for a multitouch device.
  • You run a .NET Framework 3.0-based Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application that supports the multitouch function on the device.
In this scenario, the multitouch function does not work, and the WPF application does not respond to any touch events.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Wacom driver does not support the string descriptor for a device ID.

When the WPF control sends the string descriptor for a device ID, the driver returns a "Not Supported" message. However, the WPF control does not respond to any request that contains the string descriptor for a device ID after the control receives the message.

Note In USB specifications, the string descriptor for a device ID is optional.
