Events might be incorrectly logged for an MLLP-based message in BizTalk Accelerator for HL7 on a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7) on a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010.
  • You create a receive location that uses Minimal Lower Layer Protocol (MLLP) adapter to receive messages.
In this scenario, the following events might be logged in the Application log even though the incoming messages are processed correctly.

Note If you are using BizTalk Server 2010, the Event Source is "BizTalk Server 2010."

Cause

This issue occurs because the message sender that establishes a connection with BizTalk Server 2009 sends a blank message.

For BizTalk Server 2009

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7) installed. Additionally, you must have the following hotfixes installed before you apply this hotfix:

970492 FIX: A BizTalk host instance consumes lots of memory and processes messages very slowly when BizTalk Server 2009 receives lots of HL7 messages
973909 FIX: Event IDs 5812, 5743, and 5754 are logged when you use BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7)
981442 FIX: Error message "Unable to write data to the transport connection" when you use BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 in BizTalk Server 2009

Restart requirement



You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
