View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0:

  • You log on to Microsoft Dynamics SL.
In this scenario, you notice that menu items are listed as numeric values. However, you expect menu items to be listed as text.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use one of following resolutions.

Resolution 1

Update the regional and language options within the operating system to English (United States). To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Region and Language.
  4. In the Format list on the Formats tab, select English (United States).
  5. In the Current location list on the Location tab, select United States.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK.

Resolution 2

Append the correct three-letter suffix to the Toolbarenu.dll file. (This file is located in the Microsoft Dynamics SL program files directory.) To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Browse to the Microsoft Dynamics SL program files directory. By default, this directory is at the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\SL\Applications
  2. Locate the Toolbarenu.dll file.
  3. Right-click this file, and then click Rename.
  4. Change the "enu" part of the file name to correspond to the three-letter abbreviation for the regional and language setting of the operating system. To find the three-latter abbreviation for a particular region and language, use the following table.

Example if the regional and Language setting is Spanish (Mexico), you would use the three-letter abbreviation "ESM," and you would change the name of theToolbarenu.dll file to "Toolbaresm.dll."
