System Message 8888 when you release an Accounts Receivable batch that was created by Service Contract Invoicing in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Service Contracts and Accounts Receivable in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0:
  • You enter multiple service contracts for a customer in the Service contract Entry (SN.001.00) screen.
  • You enter an adjustment for each contract in the Service Contract Deposits / Adjustments batch (SN.009.00) screen.
  • You run the Service Contract Invoicing (SN.640.00) process.
  • You release the batch that was created in Accounts Receivable.
In this scenario, you notice that the totals in the Accounts Receivable batch do not match the totals of the service contracts. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the event log:
System Message 8888 - 'Batch out of Balance.'
